National Museum in Poznań
The National Museum in Poznań traces its roots to an 1857 antiquities museum and adopted its current name in 1950, evolving from the Museum of Greater Poland founded in 1920. It comprises eight branch museums across the city and region, including a gallery of painting and sculpture, a museum of applied arts in the Royal Castle, a military museum, and a musical instruments museum founded in 1945. Its holdings span Polish and European fine art, decorative arts, numismatics and ethnography.
