Künstlerhaus Wien

The Künstlerhaus on Vienna's Karlsplatz has been the seat of the Künstlerhaus Vereinigung since 1868, the artists' society founded in 1861 as the Gesellschaft bildender Künstlerinnen und Künstler Österreichs and the oldest surviving artists' association in Austria. Built on the Ringstrasse between 1865 and 1868, it has served as an exhibition and event house ever since and was comprehensively renovated between 2016 and 2020. The association shows changing exhibitions of contemporary art on the upper floor, while the Albertina Modern occupies the lower levels.
