
Hittisau Women's Museum
The Hittisau Women's Museum, founded in 2000 in the Bregenzerwald village of Hittisau in Vorarlberg, is the first and only museum of its kind in Austria. Across more than fifty exhibitions it has dealt with women's history and women's culture, from the local region to international perspectives, complemented by a permanent space on birth culture and a programme of talks, workshops and school activities. It belongs to the International Association of Women's Museums and received the Austrian Museum Award in 2017.
