The Courtauld Gallery
The Courtauld Gallery is an art museum inside Somerset House in central London, housing the collection of the Samuel Courtauld Trust as part of the Courtauld Institute of Art. Built up largely through the bequest of the collector and industrialist Samuel Courtauld, its holdings range from medieval and Renaissance paintings to decorative arts, and include a world-renowned group of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist works such as Manet's A Bar at the Folies-Bergere and Van Gogh's Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear. The gallery reopened in 2021 after a major redevelopment of its historic home.
