Arnold Schönberg Center

The Arnold Schönberg Center opened in Vienna in 1998 as the central repository of Arnold Schönberg's estate, which until then had been held by the Arnold Schoenberg Institute in Los Angeles. It is run by a private foundation created by the City of Vienna and the International Schönberg Society and occupies the Palais Fanto on Schwarzenbergplatz, combining an archive and research library with a concert hall and exhibition rooms. Its holdings of scores, letters, paintings and personal objects were added to the UNESCO Memory of the World register in 2011 and are presented in changing exhibitions.
