Weltmuseum Wien

The Weltmuseum Wien is Austria's largest ethnographic museum, established in 1876 and housed in a wing of the Hofburg palace in Vienna. Its holdings comprise more than 400,000 objects from Asia, Africa, Oceania and the Americas, together with a library, an archive and a significant historical photography collection. Called the Museum für Völkerkunde until 2013, it combines permanent galleries with changing special exhibitions on global cultures and colonial entanglements.
