The Wallace Collection
The Wallace Collection is a national museum in Hertford House, Manchester Square, London, free to visit. It was established in 1897 from the collection built by Richard Seymour-Conway, 4th Marquess of Hertford, and his son Sir Richard Wallace, opening to the public in 1900. Its 25 galleries hold fine and decorative arts from the 15th to 19th centuries, including French 18th-century paintings and furniture, arms and armour, porcelain and Old Master paintings.
