The exhibition commemorates 60 years since the founding of the International Ceramics Symposium Bechyně. The project focuses on both personal and professional ties between Czech and foreign artists who have participated in the symposium. A selection of works from the AJG collection presents ceramics as a distinct artistic medium and as a tool for international dialogue and the sharing of experiences that have shaped the field since the 1960s.
The anniversary exhibition, titled Transfer, 1966-2026. The International Ceramics Symposium Bechyně in the AJG collections, portrays the web of human destinies that have surrounded it during its sixty years of operation. Following on from Kontakt, 2018 edition, the new exhibition goes beyond the central history of the symposium's organization and the circle of close artists. Works by foreign and Czech artists will delineate the genealogy of the symposium's current form, stories of artistic and interpersonal exchanges, and at the same time capture the transition into a new era under the administration of the Aleš South Bohemian Gallery.
