About the exhibition

In his project Amin Yousefi (b. 1996, Iran), winner of the C/O Berlin Talent Award 2026 in the Artist category, explores how systems of power are embodied. The work presents a conceptual approach to the theme of body images and situates it within various political and historical contexts. In doing so, Amin Yousefi illustrates how these images are linked to the history of Iran and can simultaneously be interpreted against the backdrop of global arms buildup and militarization. The project offers a critical reflection on how photography and other visual media are used to disseminate propaganda. At the same time, Yousefi employs the medium itself as an analytical tool to uncover gestures and visual codes through which political messages are deliberately conveyed. A publication accompanying the exhibition will be released by SHIFT BOOKS, featuring an interview and essay by Maxi Wallenhorst, winner of the C/O Berlin Talent Award in the Writer category.

Since 2020, the C/O Berlin Talent Award has been made possible by the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung.
