SS Great Britain Museum
SS Great Britain is a museum ship in Bristol Harbour, designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and launched in 1843 as the world's first iron-hulled, screw-propelled ocean liner. Abandoned in the Falkland Islands for decades, she was salvaged and towed back to the Bristol dry dock where she was built in 1970, and has since been restored as a visitor attraction. The site, now branded Bristol Dockyards, also houses the Being Brunel Museum and the Brunel Institute's maritime archive, alongside family workshops and seasonal events.
