Cloud, foam, or vapour as the leitmotif of the exhibition, a contrast between the intangible and the haptic material. The Cloud exhibition includes tapestries, original textile materials and garments made using the nonwoven fabric technique.
Andrea Lojkásková works primarily with wool fleece, but also with silk and other animal and plant fibres. Part of her approach is also the use of existing, discarded textile materials, such as older yarns, offcuts and remnants that arise during the work and find new uses. Experiments with nonwoven fabric show that the tradition of the “Moravian Manchester” is not just a thing of the past, but can be meaningfully built upon.
