Leon Wyczółkowski District Museum

The Leon Wyczółkowski District Museum in Bydgoszcz traces its roots to an 1888 historical society collection and opened as the Municipal Museum on 5 August 1923. It was renamed in 1937 after painter Leon Wyczółkowski, whose widow donated nearly 1,000 of his works that year. Today the museum spans several buildings across the city, including Wyspa Młyńska island, holding collections of Polish art, archaeology, history and numismatics, alongside branches such as Exploseum and the European Money Center.
