Donations to the museum’s collection can take various forms. Most often, a living artist adds another work to an acquisition free of charge, which effectively serves as an elegant form of discount without the artist having to sell below their price. But there are also entirely altruistic donations—and it is precisely these recent ones that we have decided to showcase in this exhibition. Of course, the gallery does not accept everything, and every donation must be reviewed by the acquisitions committee. But in the case of those it does accept, it is only fitting to thank the donors—at least through this small presentation.
