Almut Heise
Jun 4 – Oct 3, 2027
About the exhibition
Almut Heise (b. 1944) is among the original voices of painting in Germany. Her early, colorful interiors with numerous references to the reality of life in post-war Germany convey a quiet, detached form of presence. These interiors, as well as the striking portraits, are an ode to figurative painting, without being narrative or judgmental. The Hamburger Kunsthalle now presents a long-awaited, major solo exhibition with paintings, drawings and prints by the Hamburg-based artist.
An exhibition organized by the Hamburger Kunsthalle and the Haus am Waldsee, Berlin.
