Animals / The Transformation of Perception explores our changing relationship to nature and to how we perceive reality today. In the age of digital technologies, we often don’t look at animals and the natural landscape directly, but through the screens of our mobile telephones. As a result, we lose direct contact to the world around us and become less sensitive to it. Our perception of natural motifs is changing: sometimes they feel distorted or grotesque, while at other times we imagine them where they are actually absent. The exhibition’s central concept is that of transformation – not just our changing perception of animals, but our own transformation as well. The exhibition explores this shift in perspective and reminds us of the importance of attentively and sensitively perceiving the world around us.
