Dialogue with Time II. - Jindra Viková and Pavel Baňka

The exhibition of sculptures by Jindra Viková and large-format photographs by Pavel Baňka is linked to the broad theme of Dialogue with Time.

"It is a dialogue not only with time itself, but also with places, people, and memories that have shaped us throughout our lives," says Pavel Baňka, who spent five student years in Poděbrady many years ago, during which he studied and lived in a dormitory. He has often returned here with his wife Jindra Viková ever since.

The exhibited works of both artists were selected to engage in a mutual dialogue within the gallery space. The work of both Jindra Viková and Pavel Baňka moves on the border between reality and imagination. Jindra Viková's sculptures are not mere miniature descriptions of reality. They stimulate imagination, evoke smiles, and awaken the desire to get to the bottom of the hinted mysteries.

Pavel Baňka's photographs connect photographic realism with its overlaps into imaginative transformations. The artist often works with light painting, movement, multiple exposures, and other techniques through which he searches for and pushes the boundaries of the photographic image and human imagination.
