Architecture can be a source of support. It can create calm, dignity, and space for care—and the 2025 Czech Architecture Award winners demonstrate precisely this approach.
The main award went to the children’s hospice Dům pro Julii (House for Julia), the first facility of its kind in the Czech Republic. The project sensitively combines respite care with architecture that promotes contact with nature and a dignified experience of difficult life situations. The expert jury, the public, and the President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic agreed on the quality of the design and its attention to detail. The authors are Tomáš Págo, Milan Joja, and Karel Kubza from the ČTYŘSTĚN architekti studio in collaboration with landscape architect Marek Holán.
