Archdiocesan Museum in Przemyśl
The Archdiocesan Museum in Przemyśl, founded in 1902 by Bishop Józef Sebastian Pelczar, is the oldest museum in the Subcarpathian region and one of Poland's earliest diocesan museums. It occupies a former cathedral school building from the 16th century on Cathedral Square, expanded in 2008 and 2011. The collection focuses on sacral art of the Przemyśl Archdiocese, including medieval Gothic Madonna sculptures, a monumental rood-beam crucifix, Baroque portraits, tapestries, and mementos of Pope John Paul II. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions.
