Josephinum
The Josephinum holds the Medical University of Vienna's medical-history collections in a classicist building by Isidore Canevale, opened in 1785 as Emperor Joseph II's military academy of surgery. Its permanent exhibition centres on 18th-century anatomical wax models from Florence, alongside instruments, documents and books tracing Vienna's medical schools, the faculty under National Socialism and present-day medicine, complemented by temporary exhibitions.

The anatomical wax models from the 18th century as well as the history of Joseph II, that of the I. and II. Viennese Medical School is displayed. Today's high-tech medicine is also presented.
