Sigmund Freud Museum
The Sigmund Freud Museum occupies the apartment and consulting rooms at Berggasse 19 in Vienna's Alsergrund district, where Sigmund Freud lived and worked from 1891 until his emigration in 1938. Founded in 1971 and run since 2003 by the Sigmund Freud Foundation, it presents his life, his work and the history of psychoanalysis through original furnishings, documents and photographs. It also shows a permanent display from its conceptual art collection, started in 1989, and keeps a research library devoted to psychoanalysis.
