Vienna Museum of Science and Technology
The Vienna Museum of Science and Technology (Technisches Museum Wien) is Austria's federal museum of technology, on Mariahilfer Strasse in the Penzing district. Its listed main building was erected from 1909 to plans by Hans Schneider and opened in 1918 as the Technical Museum for Industry and Trade. Permanent and temporary exhibitions trace the history of technology, industry and science with an emphasis on Austrian contributions, alongside working steam engines and one of the country's largest collections of historical musical instruments.
