The exhibition presents the fates of remarkable women who influenced the personal and creative world of the musical genius Antonín Dvořák. Through letters, photographs, personal belongings, and other archival materials, it especially highlights the lives of the five Čermáková sisters, who – along with Dvořák – met every summer at Vysoká. Visitors will see period photographs and personal belongings of Josefina Čermáková (Kounicová), who was once among the most popular and, for a time, best-paid actresses of Prague's Provisional Theatre. There will also be examples of scenographic and costume practices of the time. Many details from women's stories are revealed through private correspondence. In addition to specific life stories, we also focus on the transformations of women's roles, which overlapped throughout life – similar to how it is today.
