About the exhibition
· Show originalThings of Warsaw
Things of Warsaw, Data of Warsaw and Histories of Tenement Houses are the three parts of the main exhibition of the Museum of Warsaw. 7352 objects in 21 thematic galleries are the starting point for telling the stories of people, events and processes that shaped contemporary Warsaw.
More
The exhibition does not tell one story, nor does it directly reconstruct the history of the city from its beginnings to the present day. While walking through the Old Town tenement houses, at your own pace and along a route of your choice, everyone can use these objects to build their own story about Warsaw. Audio guides are also available, allowing you to tour the main exhibition step by step.
Data of Warsaw
With data, you can verify stereotypes and common opinions about Warsaw, its residents and its spaces. It also makes it possible to identify more precisely which events and phenomena gave the city its present shape and character, and what made Warsaw the city it is and not another. Read more.
Histories of Tenement Houses
The history of changes in the structure of the northern side of the Market Square and the architectural elements of individual tenement houses are the starting point for discovering events and figures connected with this place. They are discussed both in the part of the exhibition devoted to them and in descriptions placed in the museum's tenement houses, which you can find while visiting. Read more.
