Nature, the Greatest Inventor

Permanent

The exhibition Nature, the Greatest Inventor reveals to visitors a fascinating connection between nature and technology. The display shows how people, by observing nature, draw inspiration for groundbreaking inventions and technical solutions.

The exhibition explains how evolution has shaped the world around us, from the simplest organisms to complex ecosystems, providing ready-made solutions that humanity adapts to its needs. We show both the mechanisms visible at first glance and those hidden deep in nature, discovered thanks to modern technologies. It is a journey into a world that solves problems humans do not always understand, notice or imitate.

What will you find at the exhibition? The exhibition combines natural exhibits with technical ones, enriched with modern multimedia solutions. Thanks to this, the display remains open to change: multimedia content will be updated as scientific and technological research progresses, and developed together with visitors.

An additional attraction is the multimedia content, which engages and inspires deeper exploration of the subject.

For whom? The display is intended for everyone, from the youngest enthusiasts of science to adults seeking new perspectives. The creators made sure the space is friendly and interesting for visitors of all ages, encouraging shared discovery of the secrets of nature and technology.

The exhibition was created through cooperation between the National Museum of Technology, the Museum and Institute of Zoology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and other scientific centres and museums, including:

  • Institute of Systematics and Evolution of Animals PAN in Kraków,
  • Museum of Natural History of the University of Wrocław,
  • Faculty of Biology of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań,
  • Muzeum Górnośląskie in Bytom.

Nature, the Greatest Inventor is not only an exhibition but also an inspiration to reflect on the world we live in. It is an opportunity to see the beauty and genius of nature and to understand how much we owe to its discoveries. Come and look at technology from a completely new perspective and see for yourself that the greatest inventor is nature!

The exhibitions were financed from the funds of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, under grant agreement no. 2/NMT/DCI/2024 (task titled Construction of two permanent exhibitions under working titles: „Media of Our World – History of Radio and Television” and „Nature, the Greatest Inventor”) in the amount of PLN 2,360,080.00.
