Museum Aguntum

Museum Aguntum stands on the site of Municipium Claudium Aguntum, the only Roman town on the territory of present-day Tyrol, about four kilometres east of Lienz in the East Tyrolean municipality of Dölsach. Excavations have uncovered some 30,000 m² of the settlement; a museum building with an observation tower displays the finds and opens up the surrounding archaeological park. It is run by the Curatorium pro Agunto association, which also mounts temporary exhibitions and a year-round events programme.
