Pilgermuseum Globasnitz

The Archaeological Pilgrim Museum Globasnitz is a site of the Landesmuseum Kärnten in the Carinthian municipality of Globasnitz, reopened in 2006 after renovation. It presents late antique and early Christian finds from excavations on the nearby Hemmaberg and in the Roman settlement of Iuenna in the valley below, including a 5th-6th-century pilgrimage sanctuary and an Ostrogothic burial ground. In 2014 it became the first Carinthian museum awarded the Austrian Museum Quality Seal, renewed in 2019. The museum is open May to September.
