À propos de l’exposition

The permanent exhibition Vita Christi – The Life of Christ tells the story of the life of Jesus Christ, whom his contemporaries called the Nazarene. More than forty paintings, sculptures, and liturgical objects from the 13th to the 19th century represent the rich artistic heritage of the Brno diocese. In addition to well-known medieval masterpieces, some works are exhibited publicly for the first time.

Thanks to the biblical quotes present, visitors are drawn to the intellectual origins and inspirational sources. In addition to well-known medieval masterpieces, some works are exhibited publicly for the first time.

The permanent exhibition includes, besides the painting Madonna of Veveří from the workshop of the Master of the Vyšší Brod Altar from the period after 1340, also the oldest statue of the Madonna in Moravia – the Madonna of Klobouky from the beginning of the 13th century. Also installed here is an author's copy of the Veraikon, a painting by the symbolist Gabriel Max from 1874.
