Krištof Kintera: The End of Words III
À propos de l’exposition
The Moravian Gallery's collection of contemporary art is enriched by a striking work by Krištof Kintera, The End of Words III (2014–2015). The monumental object, four and a half metres high and made of concrete, books and metal framing, shows how the artist, with his characteristic exaggeration and unease, transforms familiar objects and invites reflection on their meaning in today's world. The traditional carriers of language, memory and knowledge lose their original function here and become part of a sculptural object that raises questions about the decline of the printed word, cultural memory and the changing ways in which we preserve and pass on information. The work, acquired by the gallery with support from the Acquisition Fund of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, is now part of the Pražák Palace.
