Money Stories – On Power, Trust and Change
À propos de l’exposition
At the heart of the exhibition are personalities from different eras, each telling their own story of money. From their perspectives, visitors can experience how people lived through the economic challenges and opportunities of their time. Their stories make clear how money has shaped everyday life, trade, politics and social change – and how every generation has had to rethink money anew.
The special exhibition at the OeNB West leads through more than two thousand years and shows how closely economic developments are intertwined with political decisions and social upheavals. The arc stretches from Roman coin reforms through medieval trade and early modern financial crises to paper money, credit cards and digital currencies.
The objects on display invite visitors to discover money as a mirror of human history – as a medium of trust, innovation and crisis management.
