Exhibition BLUDNÝ KÁMEN: MALÁ DOMŮ
À propos de l’exposition
- Dům umění
- the tearoom that is part of the exhibition is open every Saturday and Sunday and on days when accompanying events take place
The exhibition title suggests a great deal, yet conceals even more. Although it runs in the thirty-first and second year of the existence of the Bludný kámen association, it is neither a look back, a celebration, nor a sentimental memory. Although it occasionally glances into the past, it sometimes celebrates a little and sometimes reminisces. Above all, however, this is a changeable, surprising and contemporary exhibition. Quietly, it undermines established rules and ingrained ideas about how an exhibition should look and unfold. Visitors find themselves at the centre of reflection on exhibiting, at a showcase of performance, in the archive or in the tearoom that for several years was the starting point of the Bludný kámen association. They watch how drawings, paintings, objects, installations and videos connect in a chain of individual curatorial decisions, listen to sounds, observe unexpected movement and experience public space anew. The exhibition takes place throughout Dům umění, in the church of St. Wenceslas, in Galerie Cella and in the streets around Opava. In addition to more than forty contemporary Czech and foreign visual artists*, performers* and creators* working with sound and video, some thirty related curators* also actively take part in the exhibition. They do not enter the exhibition merely by selecting works, but also co-shape the programme of concerts, performances, literary readings and other events that take place during its run.
