Małgorzata Halber

We wish you a speedy recovery

In the history of Zakopane, one of the more important moments was the town's attainment of spa resort status, to which the efforts of Tytus Chałubiński contributed. The Władysław Hasior Gallery is inseparably linked to this heritage – it is housed in the building of the former cure hall of the „Warszawianka” sanatorium, which served the convalescence of patients with lung diseases. In this same building Hasior lived, worked and ran his gallery, and toward the end of his life he himself struggled with health problems.

The artist residency entitled We Wish You a Speedy Recovery is an installation by Małgorzata Halber, born from a heartfelt need to support others in their difficult moments. At the height of the illness season, it will restore to Zakopane the memory that health is an important part of the town's identity, of every artist's biography, and of our own.
