Antonín Dvořák Memorial

The Antonín Dvořák Memorial occupies a neo-Renaissance chateau built in 1878 for Count Václav Kounic, the composer's brother-in-law, to a design by architect Čeněk Gregor. Dvořák spent more than twenty years at Vysoká u Příbramě and wrote or completed over thirty works there. Opened as a museum in 1963 and reopened after reconstruction in 1994, it uses all three floors of the chateau for a permanent display on Dvořák and the Kounic family, and shows temporary exhibitions, including in the Václav Kounic Gallery in the cellars.
