The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) is a global professional membership body for architects, founded in 1834 and granted a Royal Charter in 1837 to advance architecture. Headquartered at 66 Portland Place in London, it runs a public exhibitions and events programme and holds the RIBA Collections of architectural drawings, photographs and models. Its dedicated exhibition space, RIBA North on the Liverpool waterfront, is run in partnership with Tate Liverpool.
