KeraVitral. The New Life of a Znojmo Phenomenon in Plesná

The exhibition will present the KeraVitral company, which has been operating in an old factory building in Plesná since 2024 and specializes primarily in the production of tiles, as well as the ceramic material keravitral (originally vitral), to which its name refers. It was developed in 1967 at the Teplice plant of Keramické závody Znojmo, from where production later moved directly to Znojmo. Initially, it was used for the production of dinner and beverage sets for restaurant and hotel establishments, but due to its durability and rusticity, products made of keravitral also gained great popularity in households. The exhibition will present an extensive collection of these sets and production documentation, which demonstrates cooperation with prominent designers of their time, such as Karel Wünsch or Antonín Hoschna. The historical part will be complemented by the current production of the KeraVitral company, which continues this tradition and transforms it for today's needs.
