May 14 – Sep 6, 2026

Opening: May 14, 2026, 6:00 PM, Gdańsk Gallery of Photography (NOMUS building). The opening will be translated into PJM

What meanings does architecture carry in a political, sociological, or economic context? What history do we record in it, but also what vision of the future? On May 14 at 6:00 PM, the Gdańsk Gallery of Photography opens an exhibition of one of the most important photographers working in Poland, winner of the "Polityka" Passport, Nicolas Grospierre. This is the first such extensive presentation of his work in Tricity.

Nicolas Grospierre is a visual artist and photographer from Switzerland, but has lived and worked in Poland since 1999. He studied political science in Paris and sociology and economics in London, which influenced his interest in architecture as a record of social ideas. In his work, he primarily analyzes the legacy of modernism, urban planning, and the relationships between space, history, and visions of the future.

The exhibition at NOMUS – Nowe Muzeum Sztuki, where the Gdańsk Gallery of Photography is located, showcases a selection of Grospierre's key cycles from 2000–2025, allowing visitors to trace how his approach to photography has changed: from precise documentation of architecture, through experiments with photomontage and typological arrangements, to works using digital tools, artificial intelligence, and analog techniques.
