Eva Bystrianská: Dreamy Topography

Jul 13 – Sep 30, 2026

Eva Bystrianská’s photographic series Dreamy Topography (2025) is the artist’s response to observing a devastated landscape, in this case, forests affected by bark beetle. The series is part of the artist’s broader photographic project Horror vacui, in which she previously worked with the theme of empty space. For her, this becomes a place of imaginative play and personal projection. She inserts infantile objects, balloons, and multiplied figurative elements into selected landscape (sometimes urban) scenes. This creates photographs that present an image of a new, unsettling yet fragile landscape, balancing on the border of pseudo-documentary, performance, and staged photography.
