Lenka Zavadilová: Lubawka

May 22 – Sep 13, 2026

Lenka Zavadilová's photographic series Lubawka (2025) documents a once important station on the international railway line connecting Austria-Hungary with Prussia. The author captures the current state of the station complex, where once technical monumentality and architectural beauty have transformed into an image of decay, overgrowth, and gradual demise. The series focuses on the contrast between the historical significance of the place and its present appearance. The remains of the railway infrastructure, the desolate station building, and the devastated surroundings speak of the loss of its original function and the transformation of the landscape. The collection is conceived as a visual testimony not only to the decline of a former transport hub but also of the entire border region.
