Online project MSK, history, and I

We invite you on a journey of discovery through the Moravian-Silesian Region, during which you will be able to visit castles and chateaux, birth houses, museums and galleries, monuments, parks and preserves, towns and villages, and other significant localities. You will visit well-known places, such as Kunín, Hodslavice, Vražné-Hynčice, Hukvaldy, Bruntál, Sovinec, Nový Jičín, Frenštát pod Radhoštěm, and Ostrava. You will get to know the stories of Countess Marie Walburga, František Palacký, Johann Gregor Mendel, Augustin Hückel, Leoš Janáček, Evžen Rakouský, František Jureček, Albín Polášek, Sigmund Freud, and Jan Amos Komenský. The selected personalities were either born in the Moravian-Silesian Region or spent happy moments here. The entire project is a visual novel, a journey of uncovering the destinies and meanings of individual characters and discovering objects and places associated with them. The new website creates a conceptual mind map. The visitor, a small researcher and cultural tourist, will discover information that vividly and attractively brings to life the spirit of the place, the era, and inspiring personalities. We have tried to find an original way to make accessible the immense cultural wealth that is preserved and managed by the museum institutions of the Moravian-Silesian Region – the Muzeum Novojičínska, the Muzeum Těšínska, the Muzeum Beskyd ve Frýdku-Místku, the Muzeum v Bruntále, and the Gallery of Fine Arts in Ostrava.
