Stardust: The World of Gold

About the exhibition

· Show original

Gold was formed more than five billion years ago through supernova explosions or collisions of neutron stars. In a figurative sense, gold is therefore indeed stardust. Via meteorite impacts, gold eventually reached the Earth, where people have always associated it with the sun, the divine and luxury. To this day it stands as a timeless symbol of wealth, power, status and immortality.

The exhibition of the OeNB Money Museum addresses this precious metal in ten chapters: gold as jewellery, as a currency reserve, as a means of payment, as a medical product and much more. Immerse yourself in the world of gold and experience the magic of the most precious stardust in history.
