Music. Exhibition of Stitched Textile Pictures

The collection of textile pictures and artifacts with the theme of music was created by members of the Bohemia Patchwork Club Prague several years ago for the Třeboň Chateau. They approached the theme broadly and tried to express the given theme very creatively in textile material. Some were inspired by the visual form of music; in classic patchwork, the artists used prints of notes, clefs, or prints with musical instruments. Other artists then, in the style of so-called art-quilt (textile picture), fulfilled the trends of contemporary textile art using various prints, dyeing, and applications. The inspiration comes from the personalities of composers, individual works, and the emotions that music evokes.
