Royal Łazienki Museum
The Royal Łazienki Museum occupies the 76-hectare Royal Baths Park in central Warsaw, the summer residence of Poland’s last king, Stanisław August Poniatowski. Its centrepiece, the Palace on the Isle (converted 1772–1793 by Dominik Merlini and Jan Christian Kamsetzer from a Baroque bathing pavilion), houses the royal collection of paintings and sculpture; temporary art exhibitions are staged there and in the surrounding pavilions — the Old Orangery, the Myślewicki Palace, the White House, the Officer Cadet School and the Kubicki Stables — and in the open-air gallery along the park.
