The exhibition Stories of Survivors, created by the Museum of Romani Culture, presents the testimonies of six Roma men and women who survived internment in the camp in Lety u Písku during World War II.

DISAPPEARING NATURE OF EASTERN MORAVIA – HOW MUCH TIME DO WE STILL HAVE?

Prof. RNDr. Alois Kozubík, Ph.D. in a lecture on the development of the landscape of Eastern Moravia in historical context, with examples of remnants of rare habitats, animals and plants, about the roles of large herbivores, predators and especially humans, who dominantly contributed to the creation of the landscape. Alarming examples of current environmental destruction will also reveal its causes and consequences, including the answer to the question of what future can be expected.

The lecture by Mgr. Pavel Mašláň will focus on Romania's changing role during the war in the broader context of European history. It will describe the development of the political situation in the country from the late 1930s, including the rise of an authoritarian regime and the gradual rapprochement with Nazi Germany. Attention will also be paid to Romanian foreign policy and its relations with Czechoslovakia.
