Through two exhibitions this year, we commemorate two significant figures of Brno's art scene: photographer Miroslav Myška and graphic artist Jiří Havlíček. They are connected not only by their generational affiliation but also by their membership in the now legendary group of young poets, artists, and performers, for whom the term “Brno bohemia” (1966–1972) became common. In this environment, full of exaggeration, recession, poetic recitations, and happenings, both could realize their artistic ambitions and at the same time find an escape from the reality of socialist Czechoslovakia.
