Den Frie Udstillingsbygning
Den Frie Udstillingsbygning is an artist-run exhibition house for contemporary art, founded in 1891 as a protest against conservative academic censorship. Since 1898 it has presented leading and experimental art in its iconic timber building at Oslo Plads near Østerport, designed by the artist J.F. Willumsen, and remains one of the few exhibition venues in Europe still owned and run by artists.
