Sir John Soane's Museum
Sir John Soane's Museum is the former home of neo-classical architect Sir John Soane (1753-1837), beside Lincoln's Inn Fields in London. An 1833 Act of Parliament preserved the house and its contents for the nation after Soane's death, largely as he left them. It holds his collections of architectural drawings and models, paintings by Canaletto, Hogarth and Turner, and antiquities including the sarcophagus of Seti I.
