Kriegel Exhibition

When František Kriegel refused to sign the so-called Moscow Protocol in August 1968, which was intended to legitimize the military occupation of Czechoslovakia by Warsaw Pact troops, he forever etched his name into our and European history. Kriegel, a trained physician and primarily known as a politician, also pursued photography as an amateur: he amassed an extensive archive that naturally reflects his perspective on the historical events he experienced. Photographs from the National Archives and other sources are on display for the very first time. The exhibition consists of nine thematic sections.

The exhibition can be visited at the Department of Education and Culture (Maiselova 15) every weekday from 12 PM to 4 PM.

The exhibition curators are Carles Brasó-Broggi, Hana Bortlová-Vondráková. The exhibition is organized in cooperation with the Institute for Contemporary History of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Instituto Cervantes, Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, and the Embassy of Spain in Prague.
