Eva Eisler. Circle of Silence

In the space of the deconsecrated late Baroque chapel, Eva Eisler enters into a dialogue with the history, architecture, and memory of the sacred place where the St. Vitus Treasure was previously exhibited. Stone, light, sound, and moving images create an installation environment that explores the relationships between matter and time, between natural and human order, between experiencing the present moment and memory.

Seven river boulders, a circle, light, sound, and the movement of water refer to archetypal motifs shared across cultures and historical periods. The seven stones carry within their mass the memory of a process that has shaped them for millennia and continues to do so. In Jiří Trtík's original musical composition, seven words resonate in the music as a mantra accompanied by the image of continuously flowing water. This connection of duration and change offers an opportunity for slowing down, focusing the mind, and inner stillness in a frantic world.

Eva Eisler (* 1952 in Prague) is a designer, author of studio jewelry, architect, multidisciplinary artist, and university lecturer who freely connects various creative disciplines. Transcending boundaries acts in her rendition as an organic process, and thus her work forms a harmonious whole, even though it finds expression in various media, structures, and shapes. They are united by a liberating economy and balance of forms, which find profound content and meaning in space.

Eva Eisler's works are represented in international collections, including the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Arts and Design in New York, the Musée des beaux-arts in Montreal, the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich, and others. Eva Eisler regularly exhibits worldwide and in the Czech Republic, often also acting as a curator. She is the recipient of numerous awards; in 2026, she was inducted into the Czech Grand Design Hall of Fame.
