Kunsthalle Krems

Kunsthalle Krems is an exhibition house for modern and contemporary art in the Stein district of Krems an der Donau, Lower Austria. It goes back to a 1990 proposal by artist Wolfgang Denk to convert the former Austria Tabak factory; remodelled by architect Adolf Krischanitz, it opened in 1995. Together with the Karikaturmuseum Krems and the Landesgalerie Niederösterreich it forms the Kunstmeile Krems. Since 2016 artistic director Florian Steininger has focused the programme on art since 1945 and international contemporary positions.
