„Rysy”
Szymon Klejborowski
A table is a special object. We sit at it to work and to eat. It is the axis of social gatherings, ceremonies and celebrations. It is the most faithful witness of domestic stories.
The artist residency “Rysy” delves into the history of one of the pieces of furniture from Willi Koliba. Yet its aim is not a simple reproduction of the table designed by Stanisław Barabasz, but an attempt to confront the comprehensive heritage of the Zakopane style.
The permanent exhibition space will present objects documenting the successive stages of this process: from studies of archival materials and designs of the Zakopane style, through attempts to decipher its “code”, to the author’s own interpretation.
“Rysy” is a story about getting to know through action.
